This will enable value to be transferable across the network and create a culture of generosity and regenerosity.When humans treat a place as a destination, enriching it and valuing the details becomes natural.When for example, farms and restaurants are treated separately, the restaurants require curation and care in order that they be an attractive destination to feast, but the farm itself may be treated as disposable. This is precisely what we have witnessed over the last century especially with the development of an industrial food system focused on maximizing short-term profits.If alternatively, the restaurant is actually located within the farm, then the farm must also be treated as a destination whose value must be guarded wholistically: rather than the farming enterprise being guided by demands to maximize commodity production, the farmers are supported in close dialogue with the chefs and hosts to consider a more complete set of aesthetic and ecological factors.If we take this another step and designate that the destination is more than just tasty food, but actually a sense of satisfaction, comfort, and healing, then it flows naturally to farm medicine along with the food, to incorporate dietary healing principles into the food itself, and depending on the farm, to include a spa.Rather than separating all of these economic models and leaving open the possibility of externalizing costs, a permaculture approach to farming paired with a wholistic set of human-care practices creates a business where many notions of value converge to create a singularly cohesive and regenerative production with the potential to be powerfully regenerative of both the earth and its people.Now take it out of the business frame entirely for a moment. This is a starting to look like a village, what we are dreaming to build. So we can go ahead and place on the farm, with the restaurant and spa, an art gallery, a school, an elder care facility, and communal spaces, like a town square and makers-spaces.The more that we facilitate value transfers between these business models without using any formal currency, the simpler the accounting books can become: the more the economy can become familial instead of professional.
